Background  

  • Trained as a Ph.D. student in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Liverpool with a wide range of research experience in medical chemistry.
  •  Held different administrational positions including the Head of Biochemistry Department at the College of Medicine, Kufa University. I was involved in various academic committees to promote the level of teaching programs of basic sciences.
  • I was unable to travel outside Iraq to attend any regional or international conference as I have one brother (Eng. Saad executed in 1980) and the other (Eng. Ayad arrested in 1982), and even my doctoral study was on my on expenses.  

 Most Remarkable Achievements

  • Gained the title of the Globally Known Professor in 2008 according to the honoring of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on 6 April 2009.
  • Gained the title of the Globally Known Professor in 2009, for the second respective year, according to the honoring of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on 6 April 2010.
  • Was selected as the best University President in Iraq in 2010, according to the ceremony of Day of Knowledge held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on 6 April 2011.
  • Head of tens of scientific and administrational committees, and a member of more than one hundred committees.
  • Gained tens of gratitude certificates for many academic, scientific, and administrative activities, and for his contribution in putting the corner-stones to the College of Medicine and the University of Kufa as a whole.

  • The construction of Al-Ameer Health Center in Al-Makrama Quarter, Najaf.
  • The distribution of monthly and yearly allowances to the poor families, widows, and orphans since 1982 till now.
  • The founder of Dima School for the children of special needs in Najaf, 2006.
  • The allotment  of two of our own apartments to the dwelling of the poor families since 1992.

 Conferences, Seminars, and Publications

  • Attending and sponsoring more than 50 conferences and 100 seminars.
  • Publishing more than 50 articles in the world scientific, cultural, and social newspapers and journals.
  • Authoring (Kufa Private University). The book exposures the endeavors of a group of the scholars and literates of Iraq in order to establish the Kufa Private University project at the 60's of the last century, in addition to what the governmental University of Kufa had inherited, in its current formation, from the objectives of that great project, and dignifying those key persons.
